Cross members

Cross members are segments of a special type. They are defined geometrically by the positions of the connection points and hence they are dependent on other segments (girders).

The stationing between the connections has to be done in the interval [0,1]. If more than 2 connections exist, a polygon creates the reference line and the station varies in several intervals of the length 1.0:

  • [0,1] between the 1st and the 2nd connection point
  • [1,2] between the 2nd and the 3rd connection point
  • ...
SettingDescription
Copy of cross members

The copy function can be used very efficiently, if one cross member has been defined completely (inclusive numbering and cross sections). Afterward, this cross member may be copied several times. All properties of the source cross member will be transferred to the new generated ones.

Variable distances between the points of the girder

The variation of the width cross sections ( cross members ) along the girder may be realized easier using the pre-defined function

For side less than, the function '_hdp' returns half of the distance of the segment point to its predecessor. For side greater than 0, the function '_hdp' returns half of the distance of the segment point to its successor.
